Registered animals from other breeds are accepted into ASA’s database. This allows members to receive a four-generation pedigree record in the ASA database for percentage SimGenetic offspring and include their other breed data when reporting on their entire herd. We refer to these as foundation registrations.
The registration process for these requests are more labor intensive and typically takes 3-4 weeks to be completed. This involves entering a 4-generation pedigree and updating genetic defect risk.
If you need a foundation registration expedited, you may opt to pay the priority processing fee of $50 per head. Priority handling is normally completed within 48-hours for error-free applications.
